Ahhh credit cards! I had to stop paying mine. Higher interest rates and increased monthly minimum payments forced me into this situation. There was not enough money to cover food, rent, health insurance, etc. AND credit card bills. So, I have decided to eliminate credit card debt by not paying it.

I used to make a lot more money than I do now. I spent a lot and carried a lot of debt. After I spent paying my credit cards, I began to consider the possibility of eliminating that debt by not paying it.

I began researching consumer forums to learn how other people were handling credit card debt they couldn’t pay. Many complained of being victimized by debt collectors and collection attorneys. Others, who put up resistance, were able to frustrate and defeat these collectors.

I began to wonder whether I was just getting half the story. I doubted whether I had all the information necessary to be confident with my communications to debt collectors. Everyone’s financial situation is different. State laws governing consumer debt differ from state to state, and not all credit card companies handle delinquent debt the same way. At last, one day I linked to a web site selling an e-book, the Credit Card Debt Survival Guide by a guy who was able to eliminate credit card debtt by not paying it; the same thing I was trying to do. This author had to spend a lot of time, just like I was, researching consumer debt laws, debt collection and those consumer debt forums. What gives me confidence about his information are his many links to credible web sites and information. The book is over 200 pages, but it is cheap (less than $50) compared to those debt service companies. Now I can confidently focus on my particular situation.
